Here's something I've been working on, I didn't want to scrap my bits from my necron immortals, so I decided to make full use of it by casting some parts. I now have 10 immortals and 5 deathmasks from 1 pack

After decades of not posting, I thought my poor blog deserve some attention. Highlights of 2011.

1. after last post, i think it was daemons, I took a major break!
2. then it was the season of necrons - i got crazy and bought lots of models
3. I even started making new themed bases.
4. I went even crazier and made resin models for my bases
5. most likely I'm going to start a little hobby shop selling hobby supplies :p
6. then Magacon came, I had to rush my IG for the tourney.
7. Got best sportsman! whee
8. chucked my IG to one side
9. gonna continue with necrons this year.
10. going official with 'table top boutique'

As of now, I'm busy finishing up my daemon army! my beloved younger xenos brother bought me a FW Bloodthirster!!! WOOT! this means my ubber super duper pure Khorne Army is finally complete (for now).

its been ages since I started work on the Valkyrie. 3 days to finish the wings and the cockpit. still need to touch-up on the paint chipping though. ughhhhh lots more to go.

Also, I just got my lava bases for my daemons... goodness, so much to do, so little time ~_~

Skulltaker on Juggernaught - WIP

Each night I'll spend around 30-45mins on the model. its gonna take me ages to finish it. but I'm glad last night I manage to substitute Skulltakers original head with another! I never really liked its ori-head anyway :p

Below you will see my 1st mini diorama... I took the hands out of the marine & skulltaker as I still need to paint them... as to which SM Chapter I'm still contemplating between ultramarine's and metro-marines (my own unique chapter :p)

My first 40k army was the Necrons, I started them somewhere in 2004 and went crazy with them. I have around 3k points worth of necrons but 1 problem, proper storage for them. Ever since Necrons got boring and imbalanced, I moved on leaving them in a shoebox... then sometimes when I felt like fielding them again... I'd put them in a crappy old plastic toolbox, I custom made trays for them as I felt it was too expensive to get Battlefoam or even Sabol....

These were made of cheap foam i got from a local hardware store, and i used a blade and some unwanted cardboard as support for the trays... in the end... it didn't look good and sometimes, the models still damages easily... So i got fed up and decided to make my own troop carriers instead.

whuala! I found a supplier that provides foam trays that are affordable and started making my own proper troop transport. As you can see, Its quite similar to those out there and it costs half the price. Each tray is 45cm in length and 23cm in width, if you organize your troops properly you could save a lot of space and even fit in 2 armies

I was able to fit 40 necron warriors and 8 carrion swarm bases into 1 2" tray :) other image shows I can fit 12 destroyer models or wraiths + 1 tomb sypder + C'tan!

Over the weekend I made 4x 2" trays for my Necrons, thought they don't have perfect cut lines hence the price :p ...they still function well as any other mini transports out there.

my next target is to customize a bag for my troops. As of now I can say each tray would cost around RM16 for 2" (45cm x 23cm) I'm in the midst of designing a 4" so stay tuned!

I've been a real 40k geek since 2004, I own about 4 armies (Necrons, Daemon Hunters, Imperial Guards, Daemons) & also have in my care Tyranids and eventually Space Wolves. I might start Dark Eldar but who knows.... getting foams to protect my minis are a pain, if you want a good one, you have to pay a bomb. Making your own foams are much cheaper but they look crap. Look at the blue one I made for my terminators. Its crappy looking.

So one day I though, hey, I'm gonna make professional foam carriers for my minis hence I went all out sourcing for the right materials with the best cost to make the best looking foam trays. Above image shows a quality foam block, its not fully finished yet, as I'm still testing the product.

During my long absence, the forces of the warp has finally convinced me to start a pure Khrone army! bwahaha, I've finally completed collecting my entire army and have just started work on them. So far, I've completed 2 daemons: Blood-Thrister & Daemon Prince of Khorne (Images not shown yet - haven't snapped shot them :p)

my next would be converting Skulltaker riding a Juggernaut. For this task I've decided to make my very first mini-diorama. I wanted Skulltaker to have decapitated the head of a SM (which chapter I do not know yet) and setting his skull on fire! I thought it'd be cool. initially I wanted to follow the fluff, this means Skulltaker chops off every limb but Eric aka vampiredio mention it'd be cooler if he was kneeling - I went with that idea....

It was a crazy night, was suppose to be the PJ-ians invading the cheras folks, but it turn out to be a 6000 point Apocalypse match! non-the-less it was really good meeting up new players and friends.

Finally, manage to find the momentum to work on my tanks! Above is the identity of my death joes! I wanted a chinese feel so I painted the word 'Miè'
Leman Russ Battle Cannon - 70% completed.

How I did it? I double masked the hull. 1st part was to define the frame I want (the white area) then after I painted the red box in the center - masked it off - this time, only the red square and the borders. once dried, I removed the masks and painted bleachbone over the white area. I had to touch up the sides as it would smudge.

After that - I painted the words over it. For the weathering, I used 2 types of paint. there are 3 coats to be exact, Darkangles green (base) then I used a lighter tone... and finished it off with a lighter colour.
These are my other squadrons, the russ you see is actually the same one. Will be working on the Chimera first then will move on to the 2 basilisk. All models you see is roughtly 50% complete.
Here are my newest addition to my army. I'm building an executioner and a bane wolf! models are at 20% in completion.

Total tanks: 6 :p

Nah! As promised, 2 of my Mortar Team in progress. I've actually completed around 80% for all 3 of them but I brought the wrong disc to upload :(

I've been ubber busy with work and also... busy prepping for the baby to come :)

Production of my beloved deathjoes has been declining but it hasn't stopped. I will be uploading some images soon in my next post.

Right, so i just started playing the 5th ed IG here's the list

there you have it, 6 vehicles in a 1k army. I went against

Eldar: 1 win: wipe out half his troops in turn 1
Tyranids: 3 wins: 1 losses 1 draw
SM: 1 loss: but he was scared, only left 1 troop (won by technicality - turn ended on 5 with a roll of 2)
Ork: 1 win : close match won by 1 victory point.

my tactics was just blast them from a far and flank em with my 2 birds. some troops became suicidal as i just drop them next to their main tanks... I mean 3 melta guns up close... I'm sure I'd blow any amour up. but melta guns for me is a 'for sure kill' either that or to take out any units that comes too close (e.g. snikroits or flankers), most of them are crowd control - and for blasting tanks from afar - the vendetta is awesome if that fails, I have my medusa's bastion breacher... that breaks anything.

I'd usually kite a squad of vets out... just to break their army up... cus the birds are fire magnets... so i'd usually spread them out, depending on situations i'd use my vets as bait...but I always keep 1 squad close to the main tanks...

All tanks has Hflamers, so that would defend itself against any CC.

All opponents I went against, all went home scared even though they won. All called IG cheese .... i dunno maybe Im just lucky....

Finally, completed the hill-slopes

finally! after 2 weeks of quietness - I completed the sides of the hill for the table - many thanks to my younger brother Daniel who's helped me out quite a fair bit. Only thing lacking now is the hill-top. It'll probably take me another week to finish the bare top and prolly a couple more weeks to work on the details. still, it kinda paid off :D I'm quite happy with it for now as the sides are interchangeable with one another so the terrain is fully customizable.

as you see, I've put together a Terminator, a Hive Tyrant and my nephew (he just happen to stumble upon our little project) for a size comparison, its huge and I love it!

Terrain Weekend Part 2

wait, was there a part one? i cant remember lol but i guess part one is those chunks I made last weekend. this week I've decided to do it, no more procrastinations... zip, went straight to the hardware shop and got me goodies. 6 pieces of 2ft x 2ft boards and worked on my 1st piece...

Stage01 - creating the frame (recycled corrugated cardboard, recycled foam, PVA glue)

Stage 02 - adding more to the frame - see how i align the c-boards horizontally, this makes the surface stronger for me to putty later.

stage 03 - adding some masking tape helps hold corrugated boards in place and also helps seal up unwanted gaps

stage 04- reinforced taping and PVA glue to make sure its strong enough to progress to stage 05

stage 05- filling the frame with wall-putty. just a thin layer to create an uneven texture.
stage 06 - yet to come...

all in a days work! this piece if part 1 of 6 of an entire 6 x 4 feet customizable gaming table much similar to the citadel one. stay tuned for more updates!

Terrain Weekend!

TERRAIN WEEKEND! wuhoo, being really pissed at playing in public areas locally - I decided to make my own terrain and gaming table. So to start off, here are 3 terrain I did some weeks ago. Its not completed yet as I'm still waiting for me airbrush compressor. B'sides I need to find the time to do it as well.

This week was in fact a good week despite the turn of events towards last Friday. I manage to make another 4 more terrain. Some of the terrains u see would be similar - I didn't include the 4th as its just a organic shaped flat surface that's suppose to be a hill.

How I did it? simple; lots of recycled scrap plastic spools & card boxes (free), cheap glue + cheap PVA (less than RM10 for all), blade (RM5-10), wall-fillers (about RM4-5) and a cans of flat black spray (RM6 per can) and most important part of the ingredient, lots of patience and the will power to kick start the project.

there is a part 2 but I haven't come that far yet. but seeing all of it come together sure is real fun. i was also very fortunate my Nid brother helped out a little.

I completed the stuff on Saturday and tested it in the evening, it was quite decent. I really like the 'ruined building' though what you see now is just probably 50% completed. I'm yet to add more detail to it. thats just the 1st piece. I think I'd probably start a tutorial section for this once I'm done. All in all i'd say the weekend went pretty well for me :)

PS: shit, I suck at posting stuff - i really dont know how to properly align my images...sigh

Its a miserable Friday today, why?

no1 - whole days work on PC crashed - I forgot to turn on autoback on 3ds max D'OH!
no2 - Didn't get to go Legio so no 40k game :(
no3 - No go Legio means no air brush compressor :((
no4 - though I'd have a game at home but my nid bro went cyber cafe :((( and non of me 40k buddies can make it - i got tired anyway...

but this gave me time to finish up my chimera! oh well, tomorrows a good day so I hope I get a game going at least!

Yesterday was tiring - staring too much at the comp the whole day really drained my energy, so I did little paint to my mortar team. I felt better today so I though I'd make a tank today! ta-daa, my one and only Leman Russ. I really wanted to get the demolisher but its a tad too expensive - still I'd wanted to get my hands on the plasma cannon sponsons. Anyway I couldn't wait so I fixed it up. Its now prep for paint - I honestly hope I get the air compressor tomorrow :(

phew finally, I've completed assembling the 2 Valkyries! can't wait to get my hands on the air compressor (AC) this Friday so I can start work on the paint job. While waiting for the AC I've decided to spend some time painting my proxy (Warmachine: Epic Major Haley) of the Callidus and 1 squad of the DK mortar team. I still have 2 more but I'll take my time with those :p At the back you can see a armless dreadnought, that's from FW but I haven't found the time to work on him yet. ugh, so many models so little time.... jeez

Hah! Finally, I completed assembling my 1st Valkyrie. 1 down 1 to go... It is a pain to assemble it I must say - took me 2 - 3 days. Its huge I tell you. you can see the small deathjoe right beneath it.

Anyway! It's time me gonna get me air brush compressor this Friday at Legio. Hope nothing happens cause I'm really eager to start my 1st coat of pain on this baby.

Finally, I finished painting my 3rd squad - though i still need to do final touch-ups but other than that, its table-top decent. I'll try to get a better camera to zoom in on my models since I'm using the iphone's camera (which really suck!). Daniel's coming home in 2 days time so I can't wait to receive my long awaited IG force. they are, 2 Valkyries , 1 Leman Russ, 1 Chimera for my HQ Command and Ork player all time favorite foe - Commissar Yarrick. woo can't wait!

Finally! my 3rd Squad arrive on Monday morning! something that would knock the blues outta my Mondays. with 30 DeathJoes on my table, my troop choice for my 1st list is completed. this would include 3 Veteran Squads. Now... for my command squad, but I'll have to wait till July probably for me to get them and the remaining stuff.

Coming up this June, I'll be getting 2 Valkyries and my Leman Russ from my brother thats coming back from UK. till then I'd be busy painting painting....

I was just scrolling back my deviantart site and found this picture I did when I was serving at my local church as youth coordinator. These really do bring back fond memories. But what saddens me most is where have all of these went? Even the simplest of all things that embodies the passion of Christ in young hearted such as a name and identity for the youths to having detailed activities of what the youth is doing printed out instead of just "please call church office for more details" What happened to those?

Better yet, what happened to all the male leaders in the youth? Oh, maybe some of you might feel edgy after reading this part but I would like to encourage you to ponder on this verse;
Paul wrote: "But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God" (1 Corinthians 11:3).

So lets do something for Easter! oh wait, easter is over and no one did anything for the church. Its really sad - but the more I look at it the more distressed I get. I mean children ministry is doing a better job than u guys are now.... so lets do something for Christmas?

I received news from GW that this coming August, GW will be releasing new models of IG Tanks! So far I've only received news on the IG Fast Attack: Hellhound

The new kit would include upgrades for Bane Wolf and Devil Dog as well as the normal hellhound.

Restaurant Sunrise. Do not be deceived by its dodgy appearance... inside this - is where DEATHJOES Goes to have the bestest BEST BEST BESTEST ROAST DUCK EVER!

The shop is located around PJ Paramount, along the shop lots across the corner KFC. I've treid many ducks and this is the best so far - they officially open at 11:30am... but they would usually open early as people would be swarming in from 10:30 onwards. Best times to be there is around 10:45 - 11am. this is the best as you would be served the 1st batch of roast - which is the nicest for me DEATHJOE. its not just only the duck... but the rice they use is also good quality rice, i dunno, i just like it. and the soup they serve with it is not the usual kinda soup that you get when you order chicken rice. trust me its different. If you like Duck.... this will CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

Into the dungeons of my residence

I do not have a big house, but sometimes I neglect the small secluded areas at the corners of my house. I know it exist there but I've always neglected venturing into the unknown of my own backyard.

After much procrastination, with much enthusiasm, I dwell into the depths of my humble residence...

I never know how much space I had until i spent 5 minutes looking around the amount of space I had, all this while right beneath the garden! The first through that came to mind was - omg, this is gonna be an awesome workplace. I dunno, think 40k tables... maybe I could even set up my own secret 40k society - lol! Anyway...

In the center of the picture below is a small white table with 2 wooden shelf racks I just sandpaper to smooth its surface. I'm also thinking of converting this into a nice simple workspace for me to do some small wood work. who knows after this I may eventually start making epic battle fields for 40k table top? omg!!! Anyone wants to join in? who's interested? I AM!

Sigh! the long wait for my troops to arrive. I do my orders along with some of other Xenos from a reputable source - though it takes a little longer to arrive but I/we get our goods muchio-much cheaper... haih, still waiting through for me batch to come. I've ordered 2 Valkyries and some FW Troops... yet to arrive... wait wait wait... /snoor... whens me IG DEX COMING!?!?! so tempted to just run to the main post office there and dig into the millions and millions piled parcels to find me 2nd box. bah be deeeeeee
