It was a crazy night, was suppose to be the PJ-ians invading the cheras folks, but it turn out to be a 6000 point Apocalypse match! non-the-less it was really good meeting up new players and friends.

Updated! 3 mortar teams close to finishing. just need to add more weathering and probably need to wash these guys a couple of times more to get the mood i want. Eric, i need my gold back!

Tanks tanks and MORE TANKS!!!

Finally, manage to find the momentum to work on my tanks! Above is the identity of my death joes! I wanted a chinese feel so I painted the word 'Miè'
Leman Russ Battle Cannon - 70% completed.

How I did it? I double masked the hull. 1st part was to define the frame I want (the white area) then after I painted the red box in the center - masked it off - this time, only the red square and the borders. once dried, I removed the masks and painted bleachbone over the white area. I had to touch up the sides as it would smudge.

After that - I painted the words over it. For the weathering, I used 2 types of paint. there are 3 coats to be exact, Darkangles green (base) then I used a lighter tone... and finished it off with a lighter colour.
These are my other squadrons, the russ you see is actually the same one. Will be working on the Chimera first then will move on to the 2 basilisk. All models you see is roughtly 50% complete.
Here are my newest addition to my army. I'm building an executioner and a bane wolf! models are at 20% in completion.

Nah! As promised, 2 of my Mortar Team in progress. I've actually completed around 80% for all 3 of them but I brought the wrong disc to upload :(

Next update would be the tanks that is still in progress... stay tuned!

long note overdue

I've been ubber busy with work and also... busy prepping for the baby to come :)

Production of my beloved deathjoes has been declining but it hasn't stopped. I will be uploading some images soon in my next post.

there you have it, 6 vehicles in a 1k army. I went against

Eldar: 1 win: wipe out half his troops in turn 1
Tyranids: 3 wins: 1 losses 1 draw
SM: 1 loss: but he was scared, only left 1 troop (won by technicality - turn ended on 5 with a roll of 2)
Ork: 1 win : close match won by 1 victory point.

my tactics was just blast them from a far and flank em with my 2 birds. some troops became suicidal as i just drop them next to their main tanks... I mean 3 melta guns up close... I'm sure I'd blow any amour up. but melta guns for me is a 'for sure kill' either that or to take out any units that comes too close (e.g. snikroits or flankers), most of them are crowd control - and for blasting tanks from afar - the vendetta is awesome if that fails, I have my medusa's bastion breacher... that breaks anything.

I'd usually kite a squad of vets out... just to break their army up... cus the birds are fire magnets... so i'd usually spread them out, depending on situations i'd use my vets as bait...but I always keep 1 squad close to the main tanks...

All tanks has Hflamers, so that would defend itself against any CC.

All opponents I went against, all went home scared even though they won. All called IG cheese .... i dunno maybe Im just lucky....

Finally, completed the hill-slopes

finally! after 2 weeks of quietness - I completed the sides of the hill for the table - many thanks to my younger brother Daniel who's helped me out quite a fair bit. Only thing lacking now is the hill-top. It'll probably take me another week to finish the bare top and prolly a couple more weeks to work on the details. still, it kinda paid off :D I'm quite happy with it for now as the sides are interchangeable with one another so the terrain is fully customizable.

as you see, I've put together a Terminator, a Hive Tyrant and my nephew (he just happen to stumble upon our little project) for a size comparison, its huge and I love it!
